Orange Store Slab Yard Manager | Player-Coach Leadership Role


We're seeking a dynamic Slab Yard Manager to lead our Orange, CA location—a player-coach role for someone who thrives in both sales execution and team leadership. This is your chance to build a high-performing team while driving revenue in the thriving Southern California building materials market.


You'll own the P&L, mentor your sales team, and work directly with fabricators, contractors, and designers to deliver exceptional customer experiences. If you're ready to combine your sales expertise with leadership impact, this role is built for you.

Compensation:

$75,000 - $90,000 yearly


Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership (60%)

  • Close deals personally while coaching your team to exceed sales targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with fabricators, contractors, designers, and builders
  • Develop strategic sales plans to capture market share in natural stone, quartz, and porcelain slabs
  • Conduct site visits, estimate projects, and provide technical product expertise
  • Manage complex B2B accounts and national account relationships

Team Development (25%)

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team
  • Create accountability systems and performance metrics that drive results
  • Lead daily huddles, weekly pipeline reviews, and monthly goal-setting sessions
  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and customer obsession

Operations Excellence (15%)

  • Oversee slab yard inventory, merchandising, and display optimization
  • Ensure operational efficiency in order processing, logistics, and customer service
  • Collaborate with regional leadership on pricing strategy and product mix
  • Monitor KPIs, including revenue, margin, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in countertop/slab sales (natural stone, quartz, porcelain, granite, marble)
  • Proven sales management or team leadership experience (player-coach roles preferred)
  • Deep relationships within the Southern California fabrication, design, or contractor community
  • Track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and building winning teams
  • Strong understanding of slab fabrication processes, installation requirements, and material specifications

Industry Alternatives (If No Direct Slab Experience)

  • Building materials distribution (tile, flooring, cabinetry, hardscape)
  • Kitchen/bath showroom management with B2B sales focus
  • Architectural stone/surfaces sales with trade relationships
