Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is critical to ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company standards.

As a Project Manager, you will coordinate with internal teams, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining strong communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from award through completion.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, procurement, and closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, detailers, estimators, fabricators, subcontractors, and general contractors.
  • Monitor project progress and identify risks, delays, or cost impacts early.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, vendors, and internal leadership.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to ensure project alignment.
  • Track material deliveries, fabrication timelines, and installation sequencing.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost reports, billing support, and change orders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, financial status, challenges, and next steps.
  • Support field operations by helping resolve issues related to labor, materials, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and support compliance with company and job-site requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships that reflect the company’s professionalism and values.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection, project sequencing, and construction coordination.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Financial Management: Experience managing budgets, job costs, billing, forecasting, and change orders.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, field teams, and company leadership.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues quickly and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with construction and office software, including email, spreadsheets, project management platforms, and document control systems.
  • License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
  • Language: English required. Spanish is not required, but it is a strong plus.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel based on project needs.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
