Job description

Job Title: Quality & Food Safety Associate
Location: Albany, GA 31707
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality & Food Safety Associate to support critical food safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for food safety, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support programs related to Microbiological Verification, Environmental Monitoring, Mycotoxins, Allergens, and other food safety initiatives

  • Assist in root cause investigations of food safety incidents and help implement effective corrective and preventive actions

  • Translate external food safety requirements (regulatory or customer-driven) into site-specific procedures and best practices

  • Participate in the Sensory Program, including resampling products, sensory panel training, and KQA/specification reviews

  • Scan and organize inbound documents to support inbound verification processes

  • Provide technical input for Value Stream activities, including support during new equipment installations

  • Enhance change management processes by building risk assessment capabilities with operations and reliability teams

  • Assist in implementing Global Standards across the Value Stream and driving compliance

  • Provide general department support including document review, creation, and administrative tasks

Qualifications:
  • 2 5 years of experience in Quality, Food Safety, Product Development, or Quality Process Lab roles

  • Degree preferred but not required in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Food Science, Packaging Science, Public Health, or related fields

  • Strong interest in problem-solving and root cause analysis

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to support a lean team with limited resources

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
