Virginia MetalFab is looking for motivated and energetic individuals to fill the role of Production Scheduler.
WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE
As a Production Scheduler, you will plan, schedule, coordinate and/or monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Analyze capacity, and shipping schedules; prepare production schedules; plan workflow and expedite projects throughout the manufacturing process.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to determine requirements for proposals
  • Communicates with departments to ensure that materials, components, tools, and paperwork are supplied efficiently
  • Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
  • Evaluate suppliers or quality, timeliness, and match according to goals
  • Outsource to appropriate providers when necessary
  • Manage deadlines based on project expectations
  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule
  • Expedite suppliers purchase orders if required
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages
  • Notify Sales of any schedule impacts to customers
  • Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved
  • Complete status reports on production progress
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • 2 years in supply chain management
  • Must be proficient in math and skilled with multiple types of measuring devices.
  • Ability to wear various forms of PPE.
  • Ability to wear respirator.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to and including 51-100 lb.
  • Ability to push/pull up to and including 41-100 lb.
  • Certifications and Licenses - Forklift.
  • Computer skills - Job Boss, MS Suite, basic skills.
  • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
