General Description:
The Industry Scholars Program, operated by Grant Associates, is seeking a Partnership Manager to develop and maintain strategic relationships that drive internship placements and work-based learning experiences for over 5,000 NYC public high school students annually. As a critical member and ambassador for the program, you will execute key strategies in service of strengthening our current and future partnerships.
To do so, you will leverage our systems and manage projects related to generating new business relationships by implementing effective sales and marketing strategies, data collection and entry, and site visits. On an ongoing basis, the Partnership Manager will manage a portfolio of partnerships to support work-based learning placements of NYC public high school students.
You will achieve these goals by:
  • Reporting to the Deputy Director of Partnerships and collaborating with the partnerships team at large to efficiently manage all aspects of our partnership work.
  • Communicating closely with the program team to identify and implement strategies to strengthen the work-based learning placement and student matching process.
  • Cultivating relationships with local businesses and organizations to facilitate partnership building and ensure programmatic outcomes are met. This can be done through effective outreach strategies via community engagement walks, cold calling and email, events, and leveraging networks.
  • Creating and using organizational systems to share resources and best practices with external stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who is a team player with a proven record of success in developing and growing lasting relationships, a strong work ethic, and a passion for engaging with NYC youth. As such, Partnerships Managers are expected to meet monthly individual and team goals.
The Partnership Manager will be responsible for expanding employer engagement in industry sectors including but not limited to Healthcare, Technology, Business amp; Finance, Media amp; Design, Automotive amp; Transportation, and Construction amp; Engineering. This position will play a key role in developing business partnerships throughout the five boroughs to expand internship and work-based learning opportunities for local students.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with a wide range of businesses, from small enterprises to large corporations, to expand internship and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Develop internship opportunities, predominantly in Healthcare, Technology, and Business amp; Finance, that align with pathway specializations.
  • Implement effective sales and marketing strategies, including cold calling, targeted outreach, and industry networking, to generate employer interest.
  • Generate and monitor prospect lists and assist with developing reports to ensure department goals are met.
  • Manage a portfolio of employer partners, providing ongoing support and engagement to sustain long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Partnerships and broader team to implement innovative employer engagement strategies.
  • Conduct employer site visits and onboarding procedures to ensure alignment with program goals and student needs, providing employers with an understanding of program expectations and requirements for a high-quality experience.
  • Work closely with the program team to determine the types of opportunities and workplace engagements that match the skills and industry focus of local students.
  • Maintain accurate employer records, notes, and engagement tracking in CRM databases (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Monitor internship placements and provide ongoing support to employers and program staff.
  • Develop and execute special projects to enhance employer participation and student learning experiences.
  • Meet performance expectations and maintain weekly/monthly reports of results.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure the integration of all program’s components.
  • Attend all relevant meetings, training, workshops, outside events and agency-wide activities.

Requirements:
  • Proven success in corporate partnership development, employer engagement, or business development.
  • Industry knowledge in healthcare, business amp; finance, construction amp; engineering, information technology, and media amp; design fields.
  • At least two years prior experience in partnership and/or business development with a demonstrated book of business whom you can immediately engage.
  • Strong sales and relationship-building skills, with a track record of meeting outreach and engagement goals.
  • Event/project/volunteer management experience (Preferred).
  • Experience in workforce development, career-connected learning, or youth programs (Preferred).
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve goals with minimum supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable leading presentations.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and work within a results-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with New York City’s education landscape (Preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to sites across New York City.

Salary Range: $66,300-$73,000/Yearly
