Responsibilities
Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

The Chaplain functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients depending on which unit worked . The Chaplain utilizes clinical and pastoral skills to ass is t the treatment team in giving care to patients . Special focus is given to developing the religious resources of each patient in the healing process.
Qualifications
Education: Degree from an accredited college or university in Biblical or Religious counseling/studies preferred.
Minimum Experience: Past experience in pastoral or ministry field required. One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness and chemical dependency preferred.
Special/ Other Skills: Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/ CPR certification and current behavioral and verbal de-escalation training, per facility protocol, must be completed prior to beginning work. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
