We are hiring an Office Manager and Proofreader to join our Capitol Morning Report team located in Sacramento, California.
As the Office Manager and Proofreader, you will:
  • Collect and write items daily following a specific format.
  • Proofread the Capitol Morning Report for correct names, dates, times, etc. and grammatical consistency.
  • Lead customer support operations, helping subscribers get information they need
  • Manage office operations, including overseeing staff needs, supplies and workplace environment
  • Assist in administrative coordination with State Affairs, our parent organization.

Essential Qualifications for this position include:
  • Ability to balance many different tasks and priorities with a good attitude and creative approach.
  • Ability to meet the needs of customers and parent company, quickly and politely.
  • Knowledge of the California Capitol and politics, experience preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
  • Prior professional work experience in office management
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices, editing and proofreading
  • Adept with learning/improving proprietary software

This is an onsite work opportunity that is based in our office in downtown Sacramento, California. State Affairs offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package to employees.
The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $65,000 - $75,000 for candidates working from Sacramento, California. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity. Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with State Affairs.
