We build and operate advanced digital infrastructure that enables innovation, accelerates growth, and supports sustainability across aerospace, defense, medical, and other essential industries. Through our vertically integrated capabilities, including scalable additive manufacturing and precision machining, we deliver true end-to-end production at scale by combining cutting-edge technology with a foundation of proven industrial craftsmanship. Our team brings deep expertise in manufacturing, materials science, software, automation, and operations, united by a shared commitment to quality, curiosity, and accountability. We foster an inclusive culture where people take ownership, solve meaningful problems, and continuously learn, because we believe diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes.
Job Purpose
The Staff Project Manager, Operations drives the successful operational integration of customer programs, specifically the end-to-end manufacturing of medical devices. This role owns the program's operational outcomes with a disciplined focus on scope, cost, and schedule. Working closely with NPI and cross-functional teams, the Operations Project Manager translates processes into scalable, production-ready products that meet both customer timelines and internal business requirements. They will lead communication across all stakeholder groups, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure milestones are achieved. This individual operates with a strong sense of urgency, escalating scope changes, cost concerns, and schedule risks to senior leadership while driving teams toward effective, timely resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support NPI program development by ensuring products move efficiently through the factory, actively managing and prioritizing issue resolution throughout production.
  • Define and manage all post-processing development activities for the assigned product line.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing and process engineering teams to ensure developing processes meet customer program requirements and align with business objectives.
  • Own the post-processing ramp plan, driving cross-functional execution to ensure all actions are completed in accordance with program schedules.
  • Establish and monitor critical KPIs-including cost, yield, throughput, and capacity-to ensure the program meets performance targets through launch and into production.
  • Identify knowledge, process, or execution gaps within the program and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships in collaboration with the NPI team, fostering a productive and transparent partnership.
  • Manage the program budget, driving initiatives to improve COGS and updating capital plans based on evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure all processes and project activities adhere to regulatory, customer, and internal compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, program management, NPI, or manufacturing within a complex production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional programs with accountability for scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in process development, post-processing, or high-precision production environments.
  • Prior success leading customer-facing programs with significant technical complexity.
  • Proven ability to manage technical risk, prioritize issues, and resolve cross-functional blockers in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience developing and tracking KPIs (cost, yield, throughput, quality, capacity) to support program success.
  • Demonstrated competency with project management methodologies, tools, and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with process validation, qualification activities, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, AS9100).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in metal additive manufacturing, precision machining, and/or metal parts finishing processes.
  • Experience in FDA regulated industries, preferably medical devices

VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match.
The annual base salary range for this position is $118,000 to $163,500.
