Job description

Administrative Assistant - 001313

The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of professional and administrative duties to support the daily operations of the School of Nursing and its various departments. This role assists in academic support programs for the School of Nursing and Health Professions (SONHP) students and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in program planning and development, including interpreting, monitoring, and analyzing information regarding operating policies and procedures.
  • Administer school and department budgets.
  • Coordinate academic and staff personnel matters and resolve issues that may impact the school's overall goals and outcomes.
  • Compile data for various reports and grants.
  • Prepare correspondence to clinical agencies and track agreements with those agencies.
  • Coordinate, track, and complete needed revisions of course syllabi, purchase requests, annual reports, and proposals.
  • Schedule meetings, secure requested information, verify and maintain electronic files, attend meetings, and prepare reports.
  • Assist in coordinating special events.
  • Maintain office and classroom technology.
  • Communicate daily with university administration, faculty, students, and community stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business administration, office management, or a related field.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Must be comfortable communicating via phone, email, and intranet.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and function autonomously in a demanding environment.
