Project Engineering Manager — Peru, Indiana

Our client is a food manufacturing operation based in Peru, Indiana, seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead capital and process improvement projects across the facility. This is a direct-hire, retained search opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader ready to drive meaningful operational change in a production environment. Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects from scope development through commissioning and handoff
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to align project priorities with production goals
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and resource plans and report progress to senior leadership
  • Lead engineering reviews, contractor selection, and vendor management for equipment and construction projects
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality
  • Ensure all projects meet food safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Mentor and support site engineering staff throughout project execution
Qualifications
  • Background in food manufacturing is required
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects in an industrial or manufacturing setting
