General Position Description:

Under the supervision of the District Court Administrator, performs a variety of complex clerical tasks involved in processing civil, criminal, traffic and probation cases. Provides information and assistance to law enforcement officers, attorneys, defendants, and court patrons. Substitutes for other court staff and provides general clerical assistance to Judges, Court Administrator, Magistrates and Probation Officers. Required to perform work in one or more of the following areas of the Court: traffic, criminal, civil, accounts or probation, or other areas as individually assigned.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent.

Experience:

  • One to three years of general office experience, preferably in a court or closely related setting. General or advanced knowledge of receipting and balancing money.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to obtain LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) operator certification.
  • Must be able to pass a complete background check.
  • Ability to type and use word processing and database management software programs.
  • Basic operation of general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of District Court procedures, court rules and statutes is desirable.

Job Requirements:

  • Applicants will be subject to drug testing at time of interview, hiring and randomly throughout employment.
