โ€ข Direct and manage cabling crews
โ€ข Build out telecommunications closets
โ€ข Install cable support systems--cable tray, j-hooks and ladder tray
โ€ข Install cat 6 horizontal station cable, backbone cable, fiber optic cable and inner duct
โ€ข Install special systems, security, CCTV, audio visual, and fire alarm cable
โ€ข Terminate cat 6 horizontal 4-pair work-area outlet (modular connector) and optical fiber (MM, SM, LC, SC)
โ€ข Perform copper splicing, fiber splicing (fusion or mechanical)
โ€ข Perform copper cable testing (UTP and coax) and optical fiber testing
โ€ข Perform both copper and optical fiber troubleshooting
โ€ข Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools
โ€ข Must have the ability to lift, carry, and set up a 50 lb. ladder
โ€ข Ability to work some overtime
โ€ข Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
โ€ข Some travel required
Requirements
โ€ข 5+ years experience running projects in the communications cabling Industry
โ€ข Data Center experience a PLUS
โ€ข Demonstrate a clear knowledge of codes and standards
โ€ข Ability to complete and submit accurate documentation which tracks work progress including timesheets and other related documents
โ€ข Communicate with strong written and verbal skills
โ€ข Maintain a positive attitude and professional dress and demeanor
CERTIFICATION (desired):
โ€ข BICSI Certified Technician -- Installer 1 or 2, Copper and/or Fiber
โ€ข Other manufacturer certifications
โ€ข Other certifications such as OSHA, Confined Space, etc.
TOOLS:
Owns all company required communications technician hand tools, keeps them in good operating condition, and knows how to use them
