Waterproofer – Lead Commercial Deck and Balcony Installations

Job Overview

  • Company: Precision Construction and Painting.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $25 to $40 per hour (based on experience).

  • Location: Carlsbad, CA (Onsite).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Project Scope: Commercial / Multifamily Reconstruction.

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity You will serve as a skilled tradesman, executing high-quality waterproofing solutions for one of Southern California's largest multifamily reconstruction contractors. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Execute the installation of specialized Life Deck, Pli-Dek, and WestCoat waterproofing systems on elevated surfaces.

  • Perform demolition of existing decks and plywood to prepare surfaces for high-performance coatings.

  • Install flashing, scuppers, and drains to ensure proper moisture management and structural integrity.

  • Lay new plywood with precise sloping to prevent water pooling and ensure long-term durability.

  • Apply acrylic lath waterproof systems with technical precision to meet strict project specifications.

  • Conduct basic framing and carpentry tasks to support the restoration of walkways, stairs, and landings.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while collaborating with field operations to meet deadlines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in commercial and residential multi-family waterproofing or carpentry.

  • Proven proficiency in installing acrylic lath systems and specialized specialty coatings.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform demo, flashing installation, and basic structural framing.

  • Ownership of basic hand tools necessary for daily field operations.

  • Ability to work outdoors year round, lift 65+lbs, and comfortable working at heights.

  • Possession of reliable transportation to commute to various job sites throughout the region.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to facilitate team communication.

  • Advanced knowledge of Westcoat or Pli-deck systems in a multifamily environment.

  • Strong background in slope correction and complex drainage installations.
