Job description

Portland Leather Goods is looking for a seasoned and strategic PR & Influencer Marketing Manager to lead the charge in building out a high-impact ambassador and creator program. Over the years, we’ve built a passionate, highly engaged community—but we’ve only scratched the surface when it comes to influencer marketing. That’s where you come in.

This isn’t a gifting coordinator role. It’s a high-impact, high-ownership position for someone ready to architect and scale a real influencer machine—where highly influential creators, ambassadors, and media outlets are wearing and interacting with Portland Leather Goods products. Moving culture, one real leather bag at a time.

You’ll bring years of influencer marketing experience (brand and/or agency side), industry relationships, and a strong POV on what makes creators partner with brands.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define our POV and develop the strategy behind our high-value brand ambassador and influencer relationships
  • Manage a dynamic roster brand ambassadors, and work closely with the team building the foundation of our affiliate program
  • Design and implement a tiered structure for gifting, paid, affiliate, and ambassador partnerships.
  • Source, recruit, onboard, and retain creators aligned with our brand voice and values.
  • Lead contract negotiations, manage deliverables, and ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Establish relationships with high-value media outlets, bloggers, and content creators that are willing to work with the brand on a consistent basis
  • Collaborate closely with Paid Media, Creative Strategy, Product, and Social teams to launch fully integrated brand and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and understand the best way to build the content flywheel around high-value brand ambassadors; including the content they develop, and the influence they have over their audiences.
  • Develop internal systems and dashboards to measure reach, engagement, conversions, and content quality.
  • Launch seasonal activations, seeding strategies, and surprise-and-delight creator moments.
  • Align with the ecommerce team to support affiliate efforts and drive measurable sales.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors, including influencer marketing agencies and talent reps.
  • Stay on top of creator trends, emerging platforms, and content performance insights. Serve as the primary brand liaison for the influencer community—building relationships with clarity, warmth, and high standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of influencer marketing experience, with success across both brand and/or agency roles.
  • Experience managing high-value creator relationships
  • Deep fluency in the influencer tech stack—you’ve worked with platforms like Roster, Nectar, Meta Partnership Center, TikTok Shop, Refunnel, and Reacher.
  • You come with a toolkit and system you trust, and you’re excited to optimize or rebuild our current workflows.
  • Proven ability to launch and scale branded ambassador programs with clear KPIs and high retention.
  • Confident in contract negotiation and creator relations, including long term endorsements, UGC rights, partnerships, and tiered incentives.
  • Sharp analytical skills—you use data to drive strategy, not just report on it.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting to executives and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Deep knowledge of social content performance, platform trends, and creator marketing best practices.
  • Strong operational and systems thinking skills—you can build structure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with affiliate-driven influencer campaigns and tying creator work to business results.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Existing relationships with creators, agents, or managers in the lifestyle, fashion, or accessories space.
  • Background in event planning, influencer activations, or experiential marketing.

What we can offer you!

  • Salary range: $75,000 - 90,000/year (dependent upon experience)
  • Health, dental & vision insurance (75% cost covered by PLG for team member)
  • 401(k) after 1 year with 4% company match
  • Discounted pet insurance
  • Holidays (including 1 floating holiday), vacation & sick time
  • Store discount
  • Dynamic & collaborative team environment

About Portland Leather

We have come a long way since the garage days! Portland Leather Goods was established in early 2016 by our founder Curtis Matsko. Before Portland Leather Goods, you couldn’t find a simply designed, affordable bag made from high quality full–grain leather. Even if the aesthetic and the price were right, the leather felt and looked cheap, or worse, it wasn’t even real leather! In order to get a beautiful full grain leather bag, you had to spend a fortune. We’re proud to make a leather bag with classic appeal at a price everyone can feel good about.

At Portland Leather Goods, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our team.

This position is aligned with our corporate headquarters and requires employees to reside in the state of employment or within a reasonable commuting distance to support hybrid work expectations, operational needs, and compliance requirements.

Portland Leather Goods participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
