The Opportunity
Ernest Packaging Solutions is currently seeking a Structural Designer for our division located in Houston, TX. This is a full-time position offering a competitive base salary, great benefits, and a supportive, people-first company culture that encourages creativity and collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to discuss design projects, determine appropriate solutions, and create designs using ArtiosCAD.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team with a cooperative, can-do attitude, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Create packaging samples using the CAD table.
  • Manage, prioritize, and execute multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • Develop detailed production specifications from prototypes.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including maintaining safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

What You Bring
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging design.
  • Ability to conceptualize packaging from concept through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of various packaging types, materials, and production methods.
  • Proven ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Extensive design experience in retail POP displays, industrial packaging, and folding cartons.
  • Proficient in ArtiosCAD (including parametric designs), ArtiosCAD 3D, and DataCenter Admin.
  • Experience in display and/or retail-ready packaging design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD table operations, maintenance, and technical support for ESKO systems (e.g., Kongsberg/Data Tech tables).
  • Proficient in Cape palletization software and strength analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and sales staff.
  • College education or significant coursework in computers, CAD, and drafting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word and PowerPoint).
