Polisher

Overview

The DY Shop Polisher is responsible for ensuring the requested design finish is applied properly and within the requested timeline. Our finishing is instrumental to the overall David Yurman design.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of independently working on high end intricate pieces such as sold orders and bridal but also able to master techniques on gold and silver mainline product.
  • Apply requested finish to Design prototypes in requested time frame.
  • Work closely with the DY Shop Polishing team and Manager to complete a high volume of requests daily.
  • Ability to propose new techniques on finishing to serve design intent.
  • Provide input on finishing techniques for production.
  • Perform quality control on your projects.
  • Polish, refinish, and clean gold, silver, and platinum repairs.
  • Maintain organized chemical cabinets in preparation for OSHA inspections.
  • Follow safety regulations and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a Polisher in a jewelry workshop.
  • Full understanding of polishing techniques & experienced in rhodium plating.
  • Ability to apply a variety of satin finishes.
  • Experienced working as part of a team.
  • Experienced working with gold, silver, platinum, and precious gemstones.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to inspect jewelry and identify issues.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in workflow and reprioritization.
  • Able to work overtime as business needs arise.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be highly motivated.

Reporting to: Manager, Shop Technical Development

Rate: $33-$35 per hour

Hourly rate is only one component of David Yurman's total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
