Summary: The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a strategic revenue-enablement role responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new business opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives. This role exercises independent judgment in researching markets, qualifying opportunities, and advising sales leadership on pipeline development strategies. The BDR partners closely with Sales and Marketing to shape outbound approaches, refine ideal customer profiles, and ensure high-quality opportunities are advanced through the sales funnel.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategically identify, research, and evaluate prospective clients and market segments aligned with company growth initiatives
  • Exercise independent judgment to qualify opportunities based on business need, buying signals, and alignment with the ideal customer profile
  • Develop outreach strategies and engagement approaches tailored to prospect needs and business context
  • Conduct consultative prospect conversations to understand organizational challenges and position appropriate solutions
  • Advance qualified opportunities by coordinating discovery meetings, demonstrations, or strategic conversations with Sales leadership
  • Analyze outreach effectiveness, pipeline health, and conversion trends to provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data and insights within CRM systems to support forecasting and strategic planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to refine messaging, targeting strategies, and go-to-market alignment
  • Provide regular strategic updates to leadership regarding market feedback, opportunity quality, and emerging trends

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a consultative client-facing role
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess complex business needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and guide conversations toward business outcomes
  • High degree of autonomy, self-direction, and accountability for results
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
