As part of our Architecture practice at HDR, you'll contribute to the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being around the world. We bring together architects, planners, designers, and technical experts to solve complex design challenges with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. From championing design excellence with an emphasis on resilience and sustainability to pioneering innovative building technologies, your contributions will leave a lasting impact on the built environment. In the role of Health Planner II, we'll count on you to:
  • Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects
  • Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
  • Prepare drawings and specification documents
  • Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Understanding of healthcare trends.
  • Assist the lead Health Planner in the preparation of presentation drawings, diagrams and narratives.
  • Assist the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning.
  • Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
  • Architectural registration
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the healthcare architecture field, with 3 years exclusively as a health planner
  • Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, etc.)
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Preference given to local candidates

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in A/E industry
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildings
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
