Job description

Northbridge University Nursing Program is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Anatomy and Physiology Faculty member to join our team. The Anatomy and Physiology Instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and informative courses in both online and on-campus formats. This position requires the ability to teach complex biological concepts related to the structure and function of the human body effectively. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with a dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.


Location: Tampa Campus - On-site Only


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree completed in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience teaching human anatomy and physiology at the college level.
  • Require exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office applications, Adobe and familiar with information systems; available to deliver the course using diverse resources; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective instruction in assigned nursing courses, ensuring alignment with program curriculum, learning outcomes, and best practices.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies including lectures, case studies, simulations, group discussions, and other innovative techniques.
  • Facilitate clinical learning experiences, providing ongoing mentorship and guidance to students in developing essential clinical skills and judgment.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve teaching methods and course content based on current evidence, student feedback, and program goals.
  • Participate in program development activities, including curriculum review, assessment development, and policy development.
  • Stay current with evolving trends in nursing practice, healthcare, and nursing education through ongoing professional development activities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, fostering a supportive learning environment for students and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the department and university community through service activities and committee work.
  • Compliance with FTC and standard safety and OSHA10 guidelines.
  • Maintain lab, supplies, equipment.


Instructors assigned to facilitate courses in anโ€ฏOnline or Blendedโ€ฏmodality must:

  • Access their email accounts daily and keep up to date with any announcements or reminders of important events. Answer daily the messages in the inbox, announcements section or emails from students.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Review and update course material to include instructorโ€™s contact information, biography, activities calendar, due dates, availability of the tests, course content, external links, create welcome announcements, update class โ€˜schedule of meeting days, and publish course by due date in collaboration with the Program Director, Dean of Academic Affairs, and the Instructional Design department.โ€ฏ
  • Work the schedule provided for blended classes to include teaching 50 % on-ground and 50% on campus to assist students and maintain office hours to manage class, respond to messages, grade, and other academic or administrative duties related to the course.
  • Create a weekly introduction to the module in the LMS for Blended courses via the Announcement section.โ€ฏ
  • Actively participate in Discussion Boards by creating the first discussion forum entry for each discussion, monitoring the answers, and writing a comment for every five (5) student comments.
  • Create a personalized message through the Gradebook for the students who have not completed the activities.โ€ฏ
  • Calculate the grades on the Gradebook within five (5) days after being submitted by the students and provide timely and substantive feedback.โ€ฏ
  • Evaluate and provide evidence of the studentโ€™s academic progress through the administration and grading of the evaluation assignments. The faculty member will have five days after the due date of the assignments to grade it and provide substantive feedback to the student.
