The Cloud and Infrastructure department is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer with a desire to work on innovative advanced approaches and technologies to solve our sponsors' most critical technological problems. In this role you will provide architectural and hands-on support to critical customer problems in Cloud Computing and DevOps as well as software development and architecture. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work in several specialty fields with information technology to include Infrastructure Applications, IaaS, PaaS, Cloud Computing (including OS & Application virtualization), platform migration, server consolidation, utility computing, and grid computing. Roles & Responsibilities: * Lead the identification, analysis, and resolution of infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
* Review existing systems and provide actionable recommendations to sponsors and internal teams for improvement
* Collaborate with development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
* Lead implementation of cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices across projects
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and contribute to project planning and execution. Basic Qualifications: * Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience with one or more commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
* Strong experience implementing and leading cloud-based solutions using DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar)
* Strong experience implementing and managing configuration management and infrastructure automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar)
* Experience applying data engineering concepts (e.g., ETL, SQL, distributed data processing) in production environments
* Troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to lead resolution of complex technical issues and guide others
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence technical outcomes across teams
* Experience designing and leading implementation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
* Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#) with the ability to develop and maintain production-quality code
* Top Secret security clearance.
* Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
* This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid onsite. Preferred Qualifications: * Active Top Secret security clearance
* Approximately 8 years of experience in a technical field, including at least 4 years of cloud experience
* Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with significant cloud experience
* Advanced experience applying DevOps principles and leading CI/CD and automation initiatives across projects
* Demonstrated experience leading projects, coordinating team efforts, and mentoring engineers
* Experience designing and implementing solutions in one or more commercial cloud platforms
* Ability to contribute to system architecture and provide technical direction for cloud-based solutions
* Expert knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker
* Expert knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and distributed data processing
* Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#) with experience developing production-quality code This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):
