Per Diem Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Department
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical Department provides professional nursing care to patients admitted to the unit. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN administers medications, monitors patient conditions, and supports patients and families through their care journey.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Medical/Surgical setting
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor patient vital signs and communicate changes promptly
  • Document nursing care accurately and timely in medical records
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery
  • Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as needed
  • Adhere to hospital policies, state, and federal regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Nevada
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in Medical/Surgical or related clinical area preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to work flexible shifts on a per diem basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
