Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Registration Specialist to join a healthcare facility serving the Midwest region. This role involves managing patient registration processes, including conducting interviews, updating electronic records, and ensuring data accuracy. The specialist will collaborate closely with various departments and provider offices to facilitate smooth patient admissions and outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities

  • Interview patients in person or by phone to collect necessary information for medical records and billing.
  • Register or pre-register patients for inpatient admissions, outpatient services, and clinic visits following established policies.
  • Maintain accuracy by resolving system errors and running insurance eligibility checks on admissions.
  • Scan and manage documents using general scanning software.
  • Verify insurance coverage and coordinate with financial counselors regarding pre-certifications and payments.
  • Request and log payments, issue receipts, and maintain petty cash balances.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, and scanning as needed.
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and payment processing at registration points.
Education and Experience
