StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a Full-Time, Engineering Technologist and Technician, Journeyman to join our team in supporting the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Fl. NAWCTSD is the Navy’s principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The Engineering Technologist will be responsible for the following duties:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist team members with mechanical fabrication of training systems.
  • Support laboratory and other technical efforts with emphasis on computer hardware, software, modeling and simulation, and human performance.
  • Perform work assignments of limited scope and difficulty designed to provide advanced practical application and experience of theories and principles in engineering and scientific fields of specialization.
  • Assist higher level professional personnel by carrying out complete projects of limited scope or narrow aspects of broader projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
  • Candidate must have approximately 5 or more years of mechanical fabrication experience.
    • Reading and understanding mechanical schematics and assembly instructions.
    • Hand tools, power tools, mechanical assembly experience.
    • Beneficial: mechanical CAD software experience (Solidworks, Inventor, etc.).
    • Beneficial: CNC machine operation experience (mill, lathe, etc.).
  • Requires knowledge of scientific and engineering principles and theories of the type, scope, and thoroughness typically acquired through the course of study in a field of relevant technical specialization.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming, electronics, problem definition and analysis, research methods, data analysis, and presentation of results.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and correct grammar and mechanics.
Education Requirements:
  • BS degree from an accredited educational institution in a relevant scientific or technical field.
Security Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
