Are you interested in joining a supportive, collaborative organization dedicated to helping young children build essential communication skills? We are seeking Speech-Language Pathology Assistants to join our interdisciplinary Early Start team. This role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to provide individualized, developmentally appropriate, play-based services to infants and toddlers ages 0–3 in natural settings such as homes and daycare environments. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA partners with families to support early communication growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Speech Therapists in the implementation of treatment plans based on child’s evaluations for ages 0-3 years of age, in alignment with their regional center Individual Family Service Plan.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and activities as prescribed, ensuring correct techniques.
- Educate children and their families about home exercise programs, that support and encourage communication skills, articulation, fluency, voice, or language understanding.
- Prepare and set up therapy materials, activities, and equipment before sessions.
- Modify materials to meet the specific needs of clients (e.g., visual aids, communication boards).
- Organize and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring it's in good/safe working condition.
- Monitor and document child progress during sessions.
- Conduct 1:1 speech therapy in child’s homes or various community settings.
- Record child’s responses to treatments, including progress notes.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments or managing child intake forms when needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong work ethic, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; team-oriented
- Multilingual speaking/reading/writing skills are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, including relevant coursework.
- State Licensure or eligible for Licensure for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
- Previous experience in pediatric speech therapy clinic, working with children with developmental disabilities for at least 1 year.
- Reliable form of transportation, proof of auto insurance, and a valid driver’s license (for in-person visits).
- Proof of immunization records, CPR certification, and current, negative TB test (for in-person visits).
Pay Rate
The professional rate for this position is up to $65/hr for time spent in sessions providing therapy services directly to the client; drive time and mileage reimbursement will be compensated at the applicable minimum wage and mileage reimbursement rate. The actual wage rate offered will vary based on several key factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skill set, proficiency in relevant languages, years of professional experience, and the geographical location of the candidate.
