To thrive as a Papa Health Companion, you generally need strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and experience or interest in assisting older adults or families. Familiarity with mobile apps for scheduling and communication, as well as basic first aid or caregiving certifications, can be beneficial. Compassion, patience, and effective communication help companions build rapport and provide meaningful support to members. These skills ensure high-quality care, foster trust, and enhance the overall well-being of those served.

What is Papa Health and what do they do?

Papa Health is a company that connects older adults, families, and other vulnerable populations with 'Papa Pals'—trained companions who provide assistance with everyday tasks, technology help, transportation, and social support. Their services are designed to address social isolation and improve overall well-being by pairing members with friendly helpers for in-person or virtual visits. Papa Health partners with health plans, employers, and other organizations to offer these services as part of broader health and wellness initiatives.

How does a Papa Health Companion typically collaborate with members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality support?

Papa Health Companions work closely with members, often older adults or those needing non-medical assistance, to provide companionship, transportation, and help with daily tasks. They regularly communicate with the Papa Health team and, when appropriate, coordinate with healthcare providers or caregivers to relay important information about a member’s well-being. This collaborative approach helps ensure that members receive holistic support tailored to their needs, and Companions are encouraged to document visits and flag any concerns to help maintain high standards of care.
