Description

ActioNet is seeking a Network Plant Technician (ISP/OSP) JNY to join our team in multiple CONUS locations. Traveling is required for this position.ย 

Responsibilities

  • Implements physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, butterfly diagrams.
  • Restores facilities to pre-install or better conditions. Participates in the survey, design, and implementation of physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, butterfly diagrams.
  • Performs restoration of facilities to pre-install or better conditions. Works on telecommunication projects of varying size, scope, complexity, and location and supports preliminary development of the SPRIP.
  • Participates in and/or attends site surveys, assisting Network plan Engineers in documenting current site ISP/OSP configurations.
  • Assists Network Plant Engineers in the design and optimization of the supporting infrastructure in support of the SPRIP.ย 
  • Performs circuit testing for voltage, amperage, continuity, and safety after installation and adjusts as needed. Understands and follows all applicable standards (i.e., the National Electric Code).
  • Supports deployment teams for survey, installation, testing, and QA activities.
  • Supports pre-implementation coordination activities. Supports safe work environments.
  • Identifies and resolves minor project problems to reduce project and program risks.
  • Conducts systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria.
  • ย Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.
  • Coordinates work effort with ISP/OSP engineers and/or subcontractors.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree: High School diploma or associate degree;ย 
  • Experience: 5 years;
  • Commensurate: N/A;ย 
  • Specific Skills: General user capabilities with MS software applicationsย required, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and SharePoint;
  • Certifications: BICSI Technician certification preferred;
  • Clearance: Secret
