Job description

Summary:

The Pharmacy Refill Technician plays a critical role in supporting pharmacy staff and Shields Health Solutions Liaisons. This position ensures the accurate and timely filling and delivery of specialty medications, enhancing patient care and optimizing pharmacy operations through effective communication and technology leverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and knowledgeable assistance to patients, providers, and pharmacy team members.
  • Conduct outbound patient refill phone calls and complete requests promptly.
  • Answer and triage inbound inquiries appropriately.
  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians.
  • Coordinate medication refills, including data entry and claims adjudication.
  • Ensure proper medication stock and identify special storage requirements.
  • Document work and update data using database applications.
  • Facilitate patient access to medications and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and dependability.
  • Energetic, motivated team player with discretion and confidentiality skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • State registration as a pharmacy technician; national certification preferred.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this role is between $21.00 and $23.00, with eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance starting on the first day. The position includes four weeks (160 hours) of PTO and 10 paid holidays, along with career growth opportunities.
