Job description

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Vista, California, 101domain is a global leader in domain name registration, corporate domain management, and internet infrastructure services, trusted by Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies worldwide. We sit at the intersection of DNS, security, hosting, and brand protection - and our infrastructure team is the engine that keeps it all running.
The Role
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer I to join a small, skilled infrastructure team working on the systems that power a global registrar. This isn't a ticket-queue role - you'll have real ownership over automation, monitoring, and reliability across on-prem and cloud environments, working directly alongside development and operations to ship improvements that matter.
What you'll do
You'll build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet), support our DNS and edge network stack (including Cloudflare CDN/WAF and DNSSEC), and keep our monitoring and alerting pipelines healthy across tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK Stack. You'll participate in on-call rotation, contribute to incident response, and help automate away the manual work that slows teams down. You'll also work with AI coding assistants and workflow automation tools to accelerate troubleshooting and build lightweight integrations between internal systems.
What you bring
  • 3+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or systems administration role
  • Solid Linux administration and scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins)
  • Working knowledge of DNS, WAF/CDN basics, and standard security practices
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Practical comfort using AI tools for coding, debugging, and documentation

A degree in computer science or equivalent experience is preferred. Relevant certifications (AWS, CKA) are a plus.
What we offer
We take care of our team. 101domain offers multiple health, dental, and vision insurance options - most of which are fully company-paid for employees - along with a 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, and paid parental leave. Our hybrid schedule (two days in office, three remote) gives you flexibility without sacrificing the collaboration that comes from being in the same room. We also invest in our people through ongoing training, certifications, and regular team events that make it worth showing up.
