The School of Nursing at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will contribute to the academic excellence, scholarly productivity, and service mission of the School of Nursing and the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). Responsibilities include teaching across undergraduate and/or graduate programs; advising and mentoring students; and developing a robust program of research and scholarship that advances nursing science, healthcare delivery, health systems, education, policy, or related interdisciplinary fields.

The faculty member is expected to design and conduct original research, secure external funding, disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex health challenges. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed curricula that prepare graduates for diverse professional roles in an evolving healthcare landscape.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service. Teaching may occur in undergraduate and/or graduate programs and may be delivered on campus and/or online. A beginning or active research agenda consistent with requested rank is required and supported. Faculty are also expected to participate in service activities that advance the School of Nursing, the college, the university, the profession, and the broader community.

• Research and Scholarship
  Develop and sustain an independent program of research; secure external funding; publish in peer-reviewed journals; disseminate findings at professional conferences; mentor student research; and collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives.

• Teaching
  Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses; supervise clinical, practicum, or dissertation work as appropriate; advise and mentor students; contribute to curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

• Service
  Participate in school, college, and university committees; contribute to accreditation and program assessment efforts; engage in professional service at the state, national, or international level.

• Clinical/Practice Engagement (if applicable)
  Maintain clinical expertise and professional certification; foster community or healthcare partnerships that support research and student learning.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• Candidates must hold an earned research doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent in nursing or another health-related field [i.e., aging/gerontology, community health, public health, psychology, sociology or other related field]).

• For early-career candidates, evidence of an emerging program of research and scholarship through peer-reviewed, high-quality publications, and potential for securing extramurally funded research.

• For senior candidates, an established program of research as evidenced by extramurally funded research and a sustained record of peer-reviewed, high-quality publications and dissemination activities.

• Demonstrated competence in teaching.

• Preference for applicants with experience in geriatrics/gerontology, community/public health, health policy, or technology integration in healthcare.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Candidates with a nursing degree must be eligible for a registered nurse license in the state of New Hampshire.

Compensation Pay Range:
