Salary $21.00 -$23.00 per hour
Position Summary: The On-Call Activities Specialist will be responsible for assisting people with developmental disabilities to participate in education, recreational, and volunteer activities onsite and in the community. They will provide group and individual support, supervision, and transportation to individuals in the ACE (Arts and Community Exploration) program with a person-centered focus.
The On-Call Activities Specialist provides coverage for staff absences, including PTO and other unfilled shifts, ensuring continuity of programming and support.
Shifts will be Monday - Friday, 7:30-3:30

Essential Functions:
  • Provide group and individual support, supervision, and transportation to individuals in the ACE program with a person-centered focus.
  • Monitor the success of outcomes attained and document progress daily.
  • Responsible for leading activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise, and the topic of the day during facility-based services.
  • Facilitate small group community activities incorporating arts, cultural, recreational, and collaborative opportunities.
  • Assist with the organization of the office and activity space during and after activities.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Preferred one to three years of relevant education or experience.
  • Some experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in education, arts and/or recreation settings is preferred

Other:
  • Must be able to work in a team setting.
  • A valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are required. Employees must maintain a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements and be able to travel to multiple sites or community locations as part of regular job duties. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with agency policy.
  • It is helpful to have CPR, first aid, various safety skills, and/or defensive driving.?
  • Ability to provide good client and customer service. This job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a cooperative attitude while being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

Work Environment:
  • In-Office Position: Work primarily takes place at Calvary Baptist Church at 6500 E Girard Ave, Denver 80224 with frequent requirements to be in the community and occasional requirements to be at our home office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.
  • Essential physical requirements: Must be able to physically assist clients, carry supplies, bend, kneel, stoop, perform push/pull motions to perform necessary tasks, such as moving light furniture & equipment, supplies, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel between sites, communicate effectively, and use standard office and mobile equipment.
  • Physical effort/lifting: The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to fifty pounds.
