Global Leadership Academy is seeking a professional, customer service-oriented, and highly organized Secretary to support daily school operations and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage front office responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families to ensure a welcoming and efficient school environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:(may include, but not limited to the following)
Responsible for implementing and maintaining all office and school recordkeeping systems.
Develop and track records and reports related to incidents, accidents, daily attendance.
Complete forms which include purchase orders, online supply orders, enrollment forms, and other related forms.
Prepare, create, and compose letters, reports, bulletins and other documents.
Address standard inquiries by letter, phone, e-mail, fax or personal contact.
Prepare reports from confidential records.
Greet and direct visitors.
Interact with and assist students when necessary.
Administer minor first aid.
Ensure that appropriate calendars of activities are maintained.
Schedule parent conferences, IEP meetings, and school tours.
Assist in the process of registering new students.
Relieve teachers during lunch and supervise students’ lunches and regulate good eating and cleanliness habits.
Minimum Qualifications:Standard clerical procedures and office operations.
Business formatting of documents.
Basic research techniques.
Standard software applications.
Correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Organization and collection of data.
Basic first aid practices.
Proper telephone etiquette.
Ability to:Meet the public tactfully and courteously and to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Use a computer terminal and school office related software.
Organize, interpret and apply district/school rules and policies with good judgment.
Analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action.
Proofread material and make necessary corrections.
Make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
Take notes and transcribe them accurately.
Work in an atmosphere characterized by frequent interruptions using tact and good judgment.
Maintain confidentiality of student and program information.
Follow instruction.
Training, Education, and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of progressively responsible secretarial and clerical experience preferred.
Bilingual skills are preferred.
