Position Summary

The Garage Cashier is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction for external and internal customers by collecting parking fees in the parking garage according to internal controls and established procedures, directing traffic, following all safety and emergency procedures, holding assigned posts in the parking garage, providing assistance and information to customers, and other duties as described below.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $17.19 (per CBA).

Benefits as per the union agreement.

This position will remain open until July 31, 2026.

About the Venue

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is a multipurpose facility located on the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk and features the 141,000-square-foot main arena with a capacity of 14,770 seats as well as the 23,100-square-foot Adrian Phillips Theater with a capacity of 3,200.

Constructed in 1929 as the country's original convention center, for 93 years Boardwalk Hall has dazzled guests and residents of Atlantic City with legendary stage icons such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and the Beatles.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all patrons and provide information regarding parking, events, shows, and the facility.
  • Collect parking fees using a computerized system as directed.
  • Bid all patrons a friendly farewell and a safe journey home, and thank them for visiting as they leave the parking garage.
  • Ensure orderly operations in the parking garage as assigned by directing traffic and assisting patrons.
  • Inspect parking garage, noting, correcting, and/or reporting unsafe or insecure conditions.
  • Secure parking garage at the close of the building.
  • Complete and file accurate and detailed cash-handling logs and reports according to established cash-handling protocols.
  • Provide friendly and helpful service to all customers, clients, the public, and other employees.
  • Challenge unauthorized personnel in restricted areas.
  • File written reports of incidents on shift if necessary.
  • Take appropriate, prescribed actions in the event of an emergency.
  • Follow and enforce established safety and security procedures.
  • Follow established code of conduct.
  • All duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Take further and immediate action to correct conditions as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or similar position preferred.
  • Flexibility to work required hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to physically perform the duties required of this position.
  • Capable of oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including navigating a keyboard and number pad and simple data entry.
  • Respond well to direction, able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and to follow procedures and policies under pressure and in emergency situations.
