Position: FABRICATION TECHNICIAN FOREMAN

Classification: FULL-TIME / NON-EXEMPT

Location: FRESNO, CA

Reports To: FABRICATION & RENTAL MANAGER

Summary/Objective

The role of the Fabrication Technician Foreman position is to ensure the field personnel are operating within the guidelines and rules as established by the company. The Foreman shall promote, enforce, monitor and assist in establishing any new or current policies for the Service Department.


Our expectation of the Fabrication Technician Foreman is for all the inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations performed on all boilers, pumps, and other equipment at client sites. The foreman oversees jobsites, coordinates manpower, helps process all required paperwork and work along with crew using tools when time permits or the project dictates. Be fully prepared to install the equipment called for on the job site under the RFM product lines such as Cleaver Brooks, Vapor Power, Camus, Industrial Combustion, and others. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


Essential Functions:

  • Must be willing to attend trainings for boiler pressure vessel welders as the schedule permits. Will keep the adequate personnel informed of ongoing tasks and problems with new and existing projects.
  • In general will do what it takes to make our company successful with the product lines we represent and the customers we serve. It is expected that this effort will complement and result in high quality build out and repairs of Skid Projects and the repair/installation of Boiler accessories and repairs.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Will understand the requirements of ASME Code repairs and its impact on estimating, inspections, welding procedures and material control.
  • Will attend all required bi-monthly safety meetings and training as requested.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must be certified in the 6G welding position and able to be certified as an employee of our company.
  • Opening and inspection of boilers, with the understanding of the design and construction.
  • Cleaning of the fire and watersides along with installing new gaskets. Performing refractory repairs and replacement.
  • Capable of reading and understanding mechanical drawings. Along with the ability to make modifications to the equipment per these drawings.
  • Capable of pipe fitting to ASME, state and local codes.
  • Evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information and help solve problems.
  • Must be detail oriented in completing work orders, all required forms, summaries, and checklist daily or as required in procedures manual.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours, weekends and occasional travel work as job duties demand.


Required Education and Experience

· Position requires 5-10 years’ experience in the industry.

· Completed High School diploma or equivalent

· Two years of technical school, community college or trade school

· Computer knowledge a plus.

· Basic mathematics, algebra and formula knowledge are required.


Preferred Education and Experience

· Position requires 5-10 years’ experience in the industry.

· Required: High school Diploma

· Desired: AA/BA/BS/MA degree in XX or related field, or X years related experience.

· Experience with Low Emission burners and related equipment is a plus.
