Our client seeks a Network Administrator to support enterprise wired and wireless networks across corporate and data center environments. The role will administer LAN/WAN, perform firewall changes, and troubleshoot connectivity in production. The contractor will collaborate with systems, cloud, and security peers to maintain secure and scalable infrastructure in a growth setting. The engagement is a 12-month onsite contract in Frisco, TX, with potential conversion based on performance and need.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $45.00 to $35.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support enterprise LAN/WAN and data center network infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain Layer 2 environments including VLANs, trunking, STP, and port channels.
  • Support core, distribution, and access layer network architecture.
  • Perform firewall policy updates, NAT changes, VPN configuration, and high-availability support.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues, including VLAN-to-SSID mappings and RF-related performance concerns.
  • Execute production changes following change management practices.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Cloud, and Security teams to maintain secure and scalable infrastructure.

Experience Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on enterprise network administration experience.
  • Strong Layer 2 networking expertise including VLANs, trunking, STP, and port channels.
  • Experience supporting data center networking environments using core/distribution/access models.
  • Hands-on enterprise firewall administration experience including policy management, NAT, VPNs, and HA concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise wired and wireless networks.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing fundamentals.
  • Experience performing production network changes in live environments.
  • Ability to work onsite in Frisco, TX.
  • Experience with Juniper switching infrastructure (preferred).
  • Experience with Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls (preferred).
  • Exposure to routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP (preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise wireless platforms such as Aruba, Cisco, or Mist (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, PCNSE, or NSE (preferred).
  • Experience in secure, compliance-driven, or defense environments (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, PCNSE, or NSE (preferred).
