We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented National Account Manager to lead and grow our Convenience Store (C-Store) business. This role is responsible for managing strategic retail partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving profitable sales expansion across national and regional convenience store chains.
Position Summary
The Key Account Manager serves as the primary business contact for assigned convenience store accounts and is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans that drive revenue, strengthen customer relationships, and maximize market penetration.
The ideal candidate possesses strong sales and analytical skills, a deep understanding of the convenience store channel, and a proven ability to grow key retail partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Account Manager
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at national and regional convenience store chains.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with customers.
Business Development & Sales Growth
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through new product placements, promotional programs, category expansion, and distribution growth.
  • Develop and execute account-specific business plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive profitable growth while maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
Negotiation & Retail Partnerships
  • Lead negotiations involving pricing, promotional programs, contracts, and terms.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop mutually beneficial programs that support long-term growth.
  • Manage retailer expectations while maximizing profitability.
Analytics & Forecasting
  • Analyze sales performance, customer POS data, market trends, and category insights to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and inventory projections.
  • Provide detailed reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure successful program execution.
  • Coordinate new product launches and promotional initiatives.
  • Help ensure exceptional service levels and customer satisfaction.
Retail Execution
  • Monitor merchandising standards, planogram compliance, pricing, promotions, and program performance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • 10 years of Key Account Management, National Account Management, or Retail Sales experience.
  • Experience working with convenience store retailers, mass merchants, grocery, drug, or other retail channels.
  • Proven track record of growing sales and developing strategic retail partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience utilizing syndicated data, customer POS reporting, and sales analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
  • Ability to travel as needed to customer headquarters, trade shows, and store locations.
