About Us:
The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy. Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana. Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.
Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Reserves Analyst to support our team with ARIES database management, reserves analysis, and reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining the corporate SQL/Access databases, ensuring data quality and integrity, accurate reporting and serving as a key liaison between engineering, accounting, IT, GIS, finance, and other teams to streamline engineering across the organization. The position would be based in Houston, TX and report to our Director, Corporate Reserves.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintain and administer the corporate SQL/Access databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Utilize ARIES for reserves, production forecasting, and cash flow report generation.
  • Work closely with reservoir engineers to input, validate, and manage production forecasts, reserves, and economic evaluations.
  • Develop and manage data models and relationships to support cross-functional analysis and reporting.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal stakeholders using tools such as SQL, Excel, Spotfire, Power BI, or similar.
  • Collaborate with accounting, GIS, IT, finance, geoscience, and operations teams to ensure consistent and integrated data flows.
  • Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot data discrepancies across systems.
  • Support reserves reporting cycles (e.g., SEC, internal planning) by compiling and validating data.
  • Automate repetitive data tasks and develop scripts or tools to improve data accessibility and integrity.
  • Provide input on asset valuation, development plans, and economic modeling for oil and gas projects.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reporting efficiency, data reliability, and system integration across the organization.

Qualifications:
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.

Experience:
  • 2+ years in reservoir engineering, data analysis, or a related oil & gas role.
  • Oil and gas industry experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong database (ARIES) skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with reserves evaluation workflows, SEC Reserve guidelines and reservoir engineering principles.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments.
  • Team player attitude to work within a small team that interacts across the entire company.
