POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss's Parts Specialist supports the management of solar equipment and inventory movement, storage, and distribution. This role ensures supply chain operations are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with DOT regulations. The Parts Specialist works closely with the Shop Manager to ensure seamless operations and safe, timely delivery of parts and equipment support.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative shop duties
  • Ensure all required documentation has been obtained and properly filed, including part invoices and work orders
  • Coordinate and monitor equipment procurement, materials, and supplies
  • Run cost reports
  • Control inventory levels
  • Deliver parts to job sites as needed
  • Assist in keeping parts department clean and professional
  • Record all sales (including lost sales) and/or customer transactions using company provided systems/tools (i.e. PFW) and guidelines
  • Take a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and or reporting discrepancies
  • Ensure internal and external customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner
  • Receive, ship, and store parts as needed in accordance with DOT local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information
  • Pick up and deliver parts for customers and vendors as needed
  • Mark and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged system and assist with cycle count duties
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in equipment management, fleet parts management and inventory control
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations. Familiarity with solar construction is a plus
