Job description

We are seeking a Field Engineer for night shift operations to support construction activities, ensuring efficient execution, compliance with project specifications, and seamless coordination with the field team.

Regular Job Duties

  1. Collaborate with night shift foremen and superintendents to track and analyze work plans for maximum efficiency in field operations.
  2. Develop, maintain, and report daily quantities installed and performed.
  3. Analyze and compare budgeted vs. actual production rates and material yield.
  4. Perform quantity take-offs from plans and contrast weekly field quantities with planned quantities.
  5. Assist in developing Work Activity Plans and ensuring adherence to project standards.
  6. Provide monthly quantity reports for verification and billing.
  7. Ensure that night shift fieldwork is constructed within project specifications.
  8. Support project engineers and superintendents as required.
  9. Maintain and organize Plan Drawings, Revisions, and As-Builts.
  10. Assist in maintaining all Project Logs.
  11. Monitor and compare ordered materials vs. budgeted quantities.
  12. Maintain a Daily Diary and provide schedule updates to the Project Engineer.
  13. Initiate, drive, and control Field Operations Reports.
  14. Develop Look-Ahead Schedules with the project superintendent.
  15. Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings, including managers and employees.
  16. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience of 2+ years in a similar role preferred.
  3. Experience in night shift construction operations is a plus.
  4. Foundational knowledge of drawing and specifications, estimating and CPM scheduling preferred.
  5. Strong skills in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  6. Ability to multi-task, work independently, and drive efficiency in night operations.
  7. Valid driver’s license for occasional required travel.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  9. Moderate physical activity, including maneuvering on construction sites in various weather conditions.
  10. Manual dexterity to handle construction-related tasks.

Compensation Range: $70,000-$80,000
