Role Overview
The Global Sourcing Specialist III is a professional individual contributor role within the Supply Chain job family. The position performs a range of global sourcing, procurement execution, and supplier expediting activities under general supervision, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and business guidelines. The role applies working knowledge of supply chain and sourcing practices to support project execution, supplier performance, and contractual delivery commitments. The NGS Supply Chain Global Sourcing Specialist I executes end-to-end procurement and expediting activities in support of power generation projects. The role is responsible for supplier sourcing and quotation evaluation, purchase order execution, schedule and document expediting, and delivery performance tracking within defined authority limits. This position works cross-functionally to ensure suppliers meet contractual, quality, documentation, and delivery requirements, escalating issues and risks as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Global Sourcing & Procurement
  • Execute sourcing and procurement activities for assigned commodities, equipment, or services in alignment with project requirements and business objectives.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) in accordance with established sourcing procedures and guidelines.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations within delegated authority.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, revisions, and amendments through ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Support supplier qualification, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual, technical, and commercial requirements.

Expediting, Material Control & Delivery Execution
  • Track supplier manufacturing and delivery progress against contractual schedules using Master Delivery Reports (MDR) and supplier progress updates.
  • Expedite supplier documentation submittals to support engineering, quality, and shipment milestones.
  • Identify delivery risks or delays and support mitigation and recovery actions in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Review shipping documentation, packing lists, and bills of material to verify shipment completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate release-to-pack, release-to-ship, logistics notifications, and site delivery alignment.
  • Support resolution of overages, shortages, damages (OS&D), and invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain delivery performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD).

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Support
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, logistics, project management, suppliers, and site teams to support procurement and delivery execution.
  • Communicate procurement status, risks, and recovery actions to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in supplier and internal coordination meetings as required.

Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, expediting, or supply chain execution roles.
  • Working knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, expediting, and material control practices.
  • Ability to review quotations, support negotiations, and manage purchase orders within defined authority levels.
  • Ability to interpret schedules, specifications, and contractual documentation.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), spreadsheets, and standard business applications.
  • 15% - 20% international and domestic travel.
  • Come onsite on a 4-1 schedule, Monday - Thursday onsite, Friday remote/flex.
