Description:

Location: Monticello, Illinois

Shift: Night shift

Schedule: Full-time 36 hours per week, 3 12-hours shifts. Will include rotating weekends and holidays.


Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical And Emergency Room setting. Communicates with physiciansโ€™/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate, about changes in patientโ€™s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.


Duties Specific to Medical Surgical Nurse:

  • Reviews chart notes from the current shift/day for thoroughness of documentation.
  • Perform physical assessment.
  • Wound care.
  • Respiratory interventions such as vapotherm, ventilator, nebulizer treatments.
  • Specimen collection.
  • Medication identification.
  • Assist patient in performing activities of daily living.
  • Assist with monthly crash cart checks.
  • Assist in emergency room when code alerts are called.

Requirements:

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Current state of Illinois Registered Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure or Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS and PALS certification within one year from hire date.
