Requirements

 Line Cook Responsibilities:

Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

Cooks' food items by grilling, frying, sauteing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.

Perform tasks with speed and accuracy (meet ticket times)

Set up and maintain a clean workstation following protocol

Adheres to sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards

Maintain quality and freshness of ingredients and products

Comply with all rules and policies outlined in the MCBC employee handbook

Perform other duties as directed by management

Line Cook Requirements:

Previous experience in a professional kitchen is helpful but not required, including roles such as Line Cook, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook

Experience with common kitchen equipment (pizza oven, grill, fryer, etc.) is preferred but not required

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Basic written and verbal communication skills

Organizational skills

Accuracy and speed in executing tasks

Ability to work as a team member

Follows directions and instructions

High school diploma or GED.

Positive outlook and cooperative with all employees

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Be able to lift 50 lbs.

Familiar with industry's best practices (safety/sanitation)

A culinary degree is a plus.

Physical Requirement:

Constant:

Standing and walking,

Stooping, bending and crouching. 

Reaching at or below shoulder level 

Gross and fine manipulation using both hands 

Frequent:

Push, pull and lift up to 50lbs.

Reaching above shoulder level

Keyboarding and use of computer hardware

Occasionally:

Lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 50lbs with assistance.
