Title: Data Modeler

Location: On-site Interview and 1 day a week on-site at Oakland, CA, Rancho Cordova, CA, or Alpharetta, GA

Duration: 6+ months

Rate: $70/hr

Job Description:

Evaluates and leads the selection of new data management components, in partnership with IT and other key stakeholders, to integrate into the existing ecosystem including software, platforms, databases, ETL tools, data modeling tools, visualization and reporting tools, advanced analytics tools, data science platforms and tools, etc.

Partners with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and AppDev teams on capabilities, technologies, vendors, roadmaps, and solutioning

Implements capabilities data ingestion, transformation, integration, curation, publishing, analysis and visualization of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data

Designs, enhances, and maintains conceptual and logical data models and data flows for the enterprise

Defines, develops and institutes robust, quality processes to implement data changes and database modifications

Functions as architect in SAFe Agile scrum teams working on data projects and products

Facilitates and supports feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects and testing

Oversees the design of data solutions by 3rd party vendors when appropriate, in partnership with AppDev teams

Skills/Experience:

Extensive hands-on experience in designing and building end-to-end data processing platforms using known technologies and cloud platforms

Proven expertise in designing and developing data models for the insurance and healthcare industries.

Expertise in gathering requirements from business users / stakeholders and effectively translating them into robust data models

Knowledgeable about the current landscape of data warehouse and data lake solutions. Able to evaluate competing data solutions and select the best option for data ingestion, storage, reporting, visualization, analytics, microservices, and APIs given the current and future needs of the organization

Required Skills:

Experience in leading the development and delivery of data warehouse, data management, Big Data, and data integration solutions

Degree Requirements:

5+ w/Bachelors degree
