Job description

Position Overview
Viskase operates a viscose chemical extrusion facility in Loudon, Tennessee and is seeking a student to fill a full-time 15-month position as a co-op student in the Corporate Controls Engineering department.
The Engineering Co-Op Program provides students with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, supporting process improvement, quality, and efficiency initiatives. The program develops practical engineering skills while building a pipeline of talent aligned with the organization's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Corporate Controls Engineering activities.
  • Order and track materials as needed for Engineering projects.
  • Assist engineers in preparing design documentation.
  • Technical interface with external and internal customers.
  • Assist plant operations in a technical capacity with troubleshooting controls related issues
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education:
Completion of 2 years of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering program or a program in a closely related field (required)
Experience:
  • No experience required

**Must meet Education requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent Written & Verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • The co-op is always expected to work safely, in accordance with Viskase policies & procedures and generally recognized best practices.
  • The co-op should be eager to learn - there is a large learning curve to the chemical & mechanical processes taking place at Viskase.
  • Excellent organizational skills
