Job description

This position requires extensive travel to Metro Manila, Philippines - up to 6 months annually. US work authorization is required.

About VIATechnik:

VIATechnik is the global leader in Virtual Design and Construction. We have over 400 digital experts around the globe. The firm's services include Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual & Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, and Enterprise Software Application Development.

We work on some of the industry's largest and most interesting projects such as Apple's new headquarters, Virgin Hyperloop One, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) modernization & expansions, Denver International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Hudson Yards, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, Chase Arena, the Tesla Gigafactory and many more. Our team is made up of leading VDC professionals, technologists, architects, and engineers who have a passion for solving problems and a thirst for learning. We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.

Build the System That Builds the Experts

VIATechnik is looking for a Process Pipe BIM expert who wants to multiply their impact globally. Instead of modeling projects one at a time, you will design and lead the training system that elevates the technical capability of our entire mechanical pipe BIM organization across the U.S. and Metro Manila.

This is not a project delivery role. This is a standards-setting, capability-building, global leadership role.

Why This Role Is Different

You won't just teach software.

You will:

  • Define global modeling excellence standards
  • Reduce onboarding time for new detailers
  • Improve QA pass rates and eliminate preventable rework
  • Create scalable training systems that improve performance across continents
  • If you're a top-tier process piping BIM professional who enjoys coaching, system-building, and technical rigor, this role represents a major career move.

The Challenge

Within your first year, you will:

1. Launch a Global Process Pipe BIM Training Program

Design and implement a structured curriculum covering P&ID interpretation, constructability-driven routing, pipe supports, fabrication standards (ASME B31.1/B31.3), QA discipline, and sequencing logic. Your program will be adopted across both U.S. and Manila teams and demonstrate measurable skill progression.

2. Reduce New Hire Ramp-Up Time

Analyze current onboarding gaps and implement targeted training interventions that accelerate production readiness without sacrificing quality.

3. Improve QA Outcomes Across Teams

Develop and deploy a structured self-QA framework that improves routing accuracy, fabrication alignment, material matrix consistency, and model integrity - reducing rework and raising global modeling standards.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Create clear, repeatable Revit-based process piping standards documentation
  • Lead classroom and hands-on technical workshops
  • Teach modeling sequencing discipline and constructability logic
  • Implement self-QA training systems
  • Build structured material matrix development frameworks
  • Partner with Learning & Development to create scalable global training assets
  • Pilot at least one AI-enabled workflow to improve QA validation, sequencing accuracy, or modeling efficiency

Who Thrives Here

You are likely a strong fit if you:

  • Have deep hands-on experience modeling process piping systems in Revit
  • Understand fabrication standards and constructability implications
  • Have trained, mentored, or coached other detailers
  • Enjoy building systems, not just executing tasks
  • Thrive in standards-driven, quality-focused environments
  • Are comfortable traveling internationally and working cross-culturally

Career Move - Not Just a Job

This role moves you from individual contributor to global capability architect.

Instead of delivering models, you will deliver performance improvement across an international organization - shaping how process piping BIM is taught, executed, and scaled.

If you're ready to elevate from expert modeler to global technical leader, please apply.

Compensation and featured benefits:

  • The pay for this position is $95,000 โ€“ $130,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
  • Open and flexible time off
  • A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
  • Home office setup costs
  • Paid holidays

As a minority and woman owned and led company, VIATechnik seeks to build a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. VIATechnik is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
