Position Summary
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Water Resources Project Manager to join our growing Water Resources Department. We are looking for a dynamic professional capable of successfully managing water resources and environmental projects, encompassing services such as: watershed management, community and climate resilience, floodplain management, environmental permitting, compliance, stormwater management, stream restoration design, and MS4 support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of design projects and tasks for DOT and several municipalities
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic design tasks, develop and refine H/H models independently, and provide guidance to junior staff
  • Manage SWM, storm drain, sediment control and water quality design projects, including plans, permits, report content and specs/cost estimates with minimal supervision
  • Perform field assessments and construction oversight independently
  • Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedule and budget
  • Manage and mentor project staff
  • Serve as primary point of contact for existing client relationships
  • Assist with marketing activities including client/teaming research, proposal writing and preparation

Job Requirements
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineer, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Proficient in Microstation, InRoads/ GEOPAK
  • Proficient in H&H Analysis Program including at least 5 of the following: TR-20, HY-8, Flowmaster, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flow2D, SWMM, PondPack
  • Experience with DOT, as well as other local municipalities
  • Substantial project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of successfully mentoring and managing others
  • Strong communications and technical writing skills
