Job Description Research Chemist -Synthesis - Winter Haven, FLSummary/ObjectiveThe Research / Synthesis Chemist will assist/conduct laboratory experiments, do professional research, and analytical testing. Effectively 1) conduct organic synthesis reactions/experiments and make scientific and technical observations, 2) record, analyze and summarize data, 3) document projects in reports, and 4) effectively communicate findings with supervisor.Essential Job Functions and AccountabilitiesExhibits expertise in organic chemistry and performs chemical synthesis relevant to citrus oil applications.Plan, organize, and implement research or technical projects as designated by supervisor.Research and develop new technologies and products aligned with the functions and goals of the organization.Apply scientific methods to design and execute experiments that can provide meaningful data.Effectively search and study patents and technical literature.May attend conferences relevant to project activities.Required Education, Skill and ExperienceB.S. in chemistry or related field, M.S.

in organic chemistry preferred and 2-3 years of relevant industrial experience.Proven track record in problem solving, experimental design, and innovation.Ability to assess the viability of a project through cost, performance, and/or environmental concerns.Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate ability to learn and utilize advanced research instrumentation to analyze data and interpret results (LC/MS, GC/MS, NMR)Manage time effectively on various projects and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environmentMulti-task numerous projects simultaneously and follow safe laboratory practicesSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibility.Work EnvironmentThis position operates both in a laboratory and professional office environment.Physical DemandsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position with business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.TravelThis position requires less than 10% travel.Other DutiesThis job description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of the employee for this job.Duties and responsibilities may change at any time.Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed? REF:108634BRBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
