Role Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic performs advanced maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in manufacturing processes. This role handles complex mechanical issues, conducts preventative maintenance, and mentors junior team members. With expertise in troubleshooting and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, the Maintenance Mechanic 3 plays a critical role in supporting operational efficiency.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery in accordance with diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications

  • Perform basic to complex routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment

  • Diagnose and repair break down in machinery

  • Handle complex mechanical issues and refer more complex problems to higher-level staff

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members as needed.

  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Required)
  • Education: High School

  • Experience:

    • Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter, including knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, and fluid dynamic application

    • Demonstrates self-sufficiency and the ability to complete tasks autonomously

    • Typically requires 5+ years of experience

Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Certifications: Powered Industrial Equipment Certification

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly

  • Required to stand for extended periods

  • Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds

  • Frequent bending and stooping required

  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects

  • Must be able to work in noisy environments

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
