Job description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Machine Operators for a food packaging company in Aurora, IL. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated production equipment to create and manufacture finished lunchmeats.

This position is in a cold environment - temperatures at or below 40 degrees.


Positions are temp-to-hire. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Available! Pay rates between $20-$21 depending on department and shift. 

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator: 

  • Prepare machine for production utilizing proper implementation procedures. 
  • Requires understanding of GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
  • Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
  • Performs required quality testing on products produced.
  • Performs required quality testing on products produced, i.e. burst test, drop test, water table test, etc.
  • Observes machine operation to detect piece defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
  • Position will entail standing for long periods of the day and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift. 


Required Qualifications of the Machine Operator:

  • Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating. 
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential. 
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed. 
  • Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willing to work in temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower
  • Position requires lifting up to 60lbs and standing throughout shift.
