Description:

Set-up, program, operate and tear down and trouble-shoot various manufacturing machinery.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Machine Operator โ€“ All Levels

  • Obtain materials from supervisor
  • Set-up, operate and tear down machines
  • Perform various machine operation support tasks
  • Maintain schedule based on production demand through supervisor
  • Maintain all machinery, keep work area clean, neat and organized
  • Trouble-shoot equipment and document problems
  • Maintain proper paperwork specific to each job
  • Effectively communicate problems and possible solutions to Engineering and/or Shift Supervisor
  • Computer operation may be required
  • Miscellaneous assembly and packaging activities
  • Other tasks as required

Machine Operator โ€“ Level I

The Level I Machine Operator position must be proficient in the operation of at least two machines within three months of start:

  • Full knowledge of all safety issues relating to machines
  • Set-up of all parts run on machine with minimum supervision

LEVEL I MACHINERY SPECIFIC โ€“ Trained to operate at least two of the following machines

  • Welder
  • Jumbo Tubes
  • Tube Luber
  • Majestic
  • Manual Pad Printing

Machine Operator โ€“ Level II

Has ability to operate at least four out of the five Level I machinery and one level II machine.

The Level II Machine Operator position has knowledge of all essential functions of this position.

  • Full knowledge of all safety issues relating to machines
  • Set-up of all parts run on machine with minimum supervision

LEVEL II MACHINERY SPECIFIC โ€“ Trained to operate atleast one of the following machines:

  • Brushes
  • Auto Pad Print and Needletubes
  • Oravet wax line โ€“ occasional only
  • Flocking Room

Machine Operator - Level III-A

Ability to operate atleast four Level I machines and atleast two Level II machines.


The Level III-A Machine Operator position has knowledge of all essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to operate all of the machines in which training was received.
  • Set-up of all parts run on machine in which training was received.
  • Troubleshoot all machinery in operations in which training was received.

Machine Operator - Level III-B

Ability to operate at least four Level I machines and at least two Level II machines. Also, has the ability to operate the fill form seal machine.


The Level III-B Machine Operator position has knowledge of all essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to operate all of the machines in which training was received.
  • Set-up of all parts run on machine in which training was received.
  • Troubleshoot all machinery in operations in which training was received.
  • Trained in the basic operation to serve as a back-up for Level III-B and work in conjuction with production staff to run the:

LEVEL III-B MACHINERY SPECIFIC โ€“ Trained in the basic operation of:

  • Form Fill Seal

Machine Operator - Level IV

Ability to lead the operation of the Form Fill Seal machine and organize production staff accordingly for operation of the machine.

  • Ability to operate the form fill seal machine.
  • Set-up of all parts run on the form fill seal machine
  • Troubleshoot all machinery in conjuction with the from fill seal machine
  • Is not required to operate or receive training on other machines besides the form fill seal as a prerequisite.
  • Can operate other machines in which training was received.

LEVEL IV MACHINERY SPECIFIC โ€“ Trained in all of the following machine:

  • Form Fill Seal
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Good mathematical skills, good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Ability to maneuver 50 lbs.
  • Good hand dexterity and repetitive movement of both hands required
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Computer literacy


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma
