Job description

Become a key member of our Customer and Support Service Team. We provide training and this position offers a great career advancement opportunities. As an Entry Level Laser Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing laser equipment and preforming PMโ€™s on the lasers supported by MC Machinery Systems. Utilizing basic mechanical and basic electrical knowledge you will learn on how to install and set up this equipment at customer sites based on plans and drawings. As an Entry Level Laser Installation Technician, you travel to customer sites throughout North America extensively.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To learn on how to perform equipment installation as well as verify proper operation of machines to the manufacture specifications by performing any needed test.
  • To learn on to do Preventive Maintenance on our laser equipment.
  • To learn how to effectively document and communicate ideas, strategies, problems, and solutions in both verbal and written forms to co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to prepare written service reports and other necessary supportive documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to use basic hand-tools
  • Ability to operate a computer with windows operating systems
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Able to be comfortable working with heights
  • Valid Driver's License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates or technical degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of electrical and mechanical experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job operates mainly indoors, but is exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driverโ€™s license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this type of job.
